The DjuDju Journey
DjuDju priests and priestesses served as both spiritual and practical healers. In addition to medicinal brews, they prepared drinks for celebrations—such as weddings or the birth of a child. Following ancient recipes and traditions, DjuDju was crafted in large clay pots and served to guests by the "DjuDju Queen" in calabash bowls. This is the origin of today’s DjuDju fruit beers.
Inspired by the overwhelmingly positive response from visitors to Ghana, the Tagoe family decided—in partnership with an international brewery—to bring their secret-recipe fruit beers to markets beyond Ghana’s borders.
The launch of DjuDju Banana and Passion Fruit began with a promising pilot in London and Berlin—a resounding success. Encouraged by this breakthrough, the range was expanded to include further varieties: Mango, Pineapple, and the Premium Palm Lager.
